knight valiant vs castellan

The Knight Valiant is a super-heavy Imperial Knight that makes use of the Dominus-class chassis and possesses a dual plasma core to empower its myriad weapon systems. Whenever i've tried without Cawls Wrath its seemed a bit lack-luster and without House Raven it can be subpar if you roll bad on the random shots! The Knight Castellan is a super-heavy Imperial Knight that makes use of the Dominus-class chassis. My last game it killed 3 leman russes, a hellhound and 6 heavy weapons teams in 3 turns. Subject: Knight Valiant or Castellan. No adverts like this in the forums anymore. House Raven + Cawl's Wrath is an insane combo, and the amount of damage it can dish out per turn is amazing. Being a part of the oldest wargaming community on the net. . Castellan hands down. It has to get close up to use its weapons, and although the harpoon is great at picking off tanks, the castellan can do it at range, do you have this math for the other knights? Although slower than other Knights, this pattern benefits from substantially increased firepower and much thicker armour than its smaller counterparts. While the Valiant has a lot of tools to be excellent job up close, it needs to get there first. The valiant seems extremely viable as well depending on your needs. Castellan. Yea, Cawls wrath and Raven is also what i plan on doing, seems preeeetty darn solid! House Raven stratagem and cawls wrath makes for one killy piece of knight. Fits your fluff? Even being 100 pts cheaper doesn't make it worth bringing over a Castellan, Crusader, or Gallant. I got the Valiant, because it looks cooler. http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/663147.page, http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/689116.page. Warden Im also seriously considering the castellan. Knight Valiant vs Castellan Okay so these two big boys are the two biggest knights around it seems. Neither, they are going to be over costed. Cerastus knights are far better for moving up the board, the Castellan's fire power is far better and you get access to mini shadow sword cannon, D6 means you are better sitting it at the edge of your board and it will do more damage than the Harpoon without moving down the board getting in range of meltas and charges ect. Okay so really are my only choices are the three you listed? I’m trying to build a Knight army and 3 make a heavy detachment but I’m finding it so hard to choose. I run a Castellan with Cawls Wrath and as house Raven usually, i've tried House Taranis but the Raven stratagem basically makes the Castellan amazing. So I keep hearing that they are not selling the new dominus knights as a combo kit but instead as separate kits, which boggles my mind for something as simple as a weapon swap.
